From Zap2It.com's minute-by-minute recap:
5:31 p.m. - The cast of "Heroes" gathers, and Milo Ventimiglia says how honored they are to give up their time slot for this esteemed awards show -- not that that's a plug for the show or anything. The best TV actor, drama award goes to Hugh Laurie for "House." People everywhere are still shaken to hear him with his British accent, which he uses to great effect, discussing how with all the free things he's been offered such as "colonic irrigations," he wished he had a ready-made thank you speech by Dolce & Gabbana.

Golden Globes Reminder

Don't forget that the Golden Globes will be telecast live on Monday, January 15 at 8/7c on NBC. Hugh is not listed as a presenter, but should be there as a nominee.

House ratings - Words and Deeds

From TV.com:
Fox and Dr. House scored impressive ratings last night, with the Hugh Laurie show earning a 7.3 rating/18 share in adults 18-49 and 17.8 million viewers overall, according to Nielsen. The show had its best ratings ever for an episode not airing after American Idol and was up almost 30 percent over the same time last year.

Reminder: House Double Feature

Double dose of your favorite medicine: On Tuesday, January 9, Fox is repeating "Merry Little Christmas" at 8/7c followed by a new episode at 9/8c.

Hugh's TV Picks

Hugh is in the "What I'm Watching" feature of this week's TV Guide (magazine only). His picks:

1. American Chopper - It's fantastic. It's sort of like a documentary about the Teutul family, who make custom motorcycles in orange County, New York.
2. The Office - It's just flat-out funny. Steve Carell is absolutely amazing, and that takes some doing, given that Ricky Gervais' original British series was as good as any TV show ever.
3. The Daily Show - It is the finest television show on the planet. I think that Jon Stewart is the wise voice of our times. Besides being fantastically funny, he's also able to change gears and play the staright man. I think it's pretty remarkable.
